Welcome

TESL North York and York Region (an affiliate of TESL Ontario) is a volunteer organization serving the professional needs of teachers of English as a second language.

TESL North York/York Region was established in 1976 to meet the needs of ESL teachers in the northern part of the city. Our members are from a diverse group of language providers including school boards, private schools, community colleges, and community agencies, to name a few. Our clients are elementary through high school and college level, to adult learners. As well, some of our members tutor privately or in company programs.

We hold Annual General Meeting followed by a workshop on a weekday evening in the fall, and a Saturday morning workshop in the spring. We also publish a newsletter two or three times each year. At each workshop we welcome publishers to display the best and newest materials to help keep our classroom programs up-to-date and interesting.

This website will keep our members informed about future events and issues of interest. We invite your feedback and suggestions.
